I have been excited to see "JOY" in more messaging - social, TV and email subject lines, but now it makes me pause.
A word to marketers, be a #StudentOfThePast when it comes to messaging today as the country is reopening. Watch this montage and see how messaging became a sea of sameness when the pandemic started. We all remember, "we're here for you" and "now, more than ever".
Let's not repeat ourselves now. Consumers want to "feel" joy, so we have to be careful as marketers to not just "say" joy. Ask yourself and focus on, "how do I deliver joy"?
Otherwise, #joy will become wallpaper in this re-opening messaging and another sea of sameness. Please share this so we don't repeat history.
